1500 earthern pots for filling water for Birds were distributed free of cost ! Hunger and thirst are Metaphors of Life. True religion is about giving food to the hungry and water to the thirsty. Under “Save Birds” which is an ongoing project of Rotary Club of Pune Sarasbaug, Distribution of earthern water pots for birds, was carried out for the citizens of Pune on Sunday, April 10, 2016. The Project also coincides with “The World Earth Day” which falls on 22nd April 2016. Due to the rising temperatures many birds lose their life for the want of water. It is an appeal to the citizens to fill water in these pots and place them in their garden or terrace for the birds. These special pots are sourced from Siliguri in west Bengal and are better than the metal or plastic pots. It does not topple due to its self weight and keeps the water cool. Last year we had distributed 1500 pots on 19th April 2015 and had received tremendous response from citizens who come for their morning walk at Sarasbaug. This year distribution was done at P.L. Deshpande garden and Race Course.
